Harbor Mountain Run

On Saturday my dad and I went on a 15 mile run. We ran from Jeff’s house up Harbor Mountain. Jeff is one of my dad’s friends. He’s an ultra-marathoner. My dad refers to as “Crazy” in one of his blogs.

On the way up the road, I learned how hard it is to run in uneven snow. And I learned running in that kind of snow really is a nice ankle strengthening thing. When we got back down to the Cross Trail, my dad and I ran into someone who was throwing a ball for his dog. He told us good luck with what we’re doing.

I am still pretty amazed at how much this run across the USA has already spread around town, and I’d like to thank everyone who has liked or shared our blogs and the Facebook Running The Country page.

Snowshoeing The Country?

I promise not to post every training run, but this was my first time on snowshoes and the scenery was fantastic–soft light and light fog gave everything fuzzy edges and a surreal effect. Thanks, Ryan, for the snowshoes and thanks, Jeff, for breaking trail.

We hiked up Gavan Hill. Compare the scenery from this run to the scenery the last time we were up here six or eight weeks ago.
