Running across the country is dangerous! High speed missiles shoot past us all day long, sometimes on roads that have as much shoulder as a Missouri snake. So when we learned of the opportunity to run over 100 miles on Missouri’s Katy Trail, we jumped at the chance. The Katy Trail is the nation’s largest rails-to-trails project, stretching East to West across most of central Missouri. I planned to post photos after each day’s run, but sometimes the best laid plans of mice, men, and transcon runners . . .
On our last day on The Katy Trail, Juli Viel joined us for our final few miles. Juli was a Katy Trail proponent from and played a part in its creation. Now days, Juli speaks passionately about the problems associated with global warming. She also attended the March against Monsanto at Monsanto’s and talked about how important it is that we work together to boot out big money puppet politicians and vote in people who truly represent their constituents. Thanks for the work you do, Juli!
The following photos start outside of Jefferson City and end near The Discovery Bridge, the bridge over the Missouri River some 12 miles from Monsanto’s headquarters in Creve Coeur.
