WHO Masks the Truth

“If you can’t see by now that this has nothing to do with a virus, your mask might be obstructing your view.” — Sarah Cooper

On June 5th, the World Health Organization released a new paper titled “Advice on the use of masks in the context of COVID-19“. MedPage Today dutifully lied about the WHO’s advise, saying “Updated guidance from the World Health Organization now says everyone should wear cloth masks in public . . .” If MedPage Today had a shred of journalistic integrity, it would have written:

WHO reports, “The widespread use of masks by healthy people in the community setting is not yet supported by high quality or direct scientific evidence.”

Following is an expanded quotation:

“Many countries have recommended the use of fabric masks/face coverings for the general public. At the present time, the widespread use of masks by healthy people in the community setting is not yet supported by high quality or direct scientific evidence and there are potential benefits and harms to consider (see below).

“However, taking into account the available studies evaluating pre- and asymptomatic transmission, a growing compendium of observational evidence on the use of masks by the general public in several countries, individual values and preferences, as well as the difficulty of physical distancing in many contexts, WHO has updated its guidance to advise that to prevent COVID-19 transmission effectively in areas of community transmission, governments should encourage the general public to wear masks in specific situations and settings as part of a comprehensive approach to suppress SARS-CoV-2 transmission (Table 2).”

Translation: “At the present time, the widespread use of masks by healthy people in the community setting is not yet supported by high quality or direct scientific evidence” but there are situations where masks may provide benefit.

The WHO continues:

“The likely advantages of the use of masks by healthy people in the general public include:

  • reduced potential exposure risk from infected persons before they develop symptoms;
  • reduced potential stigmatization of individuals wearing masks to prevent infecting others (source control) or of people caring for COVID-19 patients in non-clinical settings;(70)
  • making people feel they can play a role in contributing to stopping spread of the virus;
  • reminding people to be compliant with other measures (e.g., hand hygiene, not touching nose and mouth). However, this can also have the reverse effect (see below);
  • potential social and economic benefits. Amidst the global shortage of surgical masks and PPE, encouraging the public to create their own fabric masks may promote individual enterprise and community integration. Moreover, the production of non-medical masks may offer a source of income for those able to manufacture masks within their communities. Fabric masks can also be a form of cultural expression, encouraging public acceptance of protection measures in general. The safe re-use of fabric masks will also reduce costs and waste and contribute to sustainability.”

Translation: If you choose to wear a mask to prevent the spread of an illness that is no worse than the yearly flu season, you will “likely” have “reduced potential exposure” even though there’s no direct evidence to support that claim.

The other benefits are absurd: reduce potential stigmatization of mask wearers? Give me a break. Mask wearers are the new bullies in this New Abnormal. “Making people feel they can play a role in contributing to stopping spread of the virus”??? Even though there’s no direct evidence that such is the case. “Reminding people to be compliant”. . .??? Money making opportunity??? Cultural expression??? Encourage public acceptance of protection measures in general??? Contribute to sustainability???

In other words, 40,000,000 Americans who are out of work for no good reason can huddle in fear six from each other making culturally appropriate muzzles while singing Kumbaya without a clue of who’s running and profiting from the WuFluCoup.

Following is what the WHO has to say about the potential risks of masking healthy people in public:

The likely disadvantages of the use of mask(sp) by healthy people in the general public include:

  • potential increased risk of self-contamination due to the manipulation of a face mask and subsequently touching eyes with contaminated hands;(48, 49)
  • potential self-contamination that can occur if non-medical masks are not changed when wet or soiled. This can create favourable conditions for microorganism(sp) to amplify;
  • potential headache and/or breathing difficulties, depending on type of mask used;
  • potential development of facial skin lesions, irritant dermatitis or worsening acne, when used frequently for long hours;(50)
  • difficulty with communicating clearly;
  • potential discomfort;(41, 51)
  • a false sense of security, leading to potentially lower adherence to other critical preventive measures such as physical distancing and hand hygiene;
  • poor compliance with mask wearing, in particular by young children;
  • waste management issues; improper mask disposal leading to increased litter in public places, risk of contamination to street cleaners and environment hazard;
  • difficulty communicating for deaf persons who rely on lip reading;
  • disadvantages for or difficulty wearing them, especially for children, developmentally challenged persons, those with mental illness, elderly persons with cognitive impairment, those with asthma or chronic respiratory or breathing problems, those who have had facial trauma or recent oral maxillofacial surgery, and those living in hot and humid environments.

Pretty impressive list, but it’s far from complete. Here are a few other potential harms/disadvantages:

  • Wearing a mask in public perpetuates the lie the CV-19 is more dangerous than the seasonal flu.
  • Wearing a mask in public compounds fear, anxiety, depression, suspicion and paranoia.
  • Wearing a mask in public increases bullying and violence, especially in children at school.
  • Wearing a mask in public teaches people (especially children) that the air they inhale will kill them and the air they exhale will kill their parents, grandparents, siblings, and friends. When breathing is associated with the risk of dying, lifelong trauma will inevitably result.

In summary, there’s no direct evidence that masking healthy people in public prevents them from catching a disease or prevents them from spreading a disease they don’t have. So the other alleged benefits are ridiculous, especially considering the fact that healthy people have never been required to mask before in public even during more serious pandemics. And if healthy people willingly mask for this pandemic, they will undoubtedly be asked/required to do so for every bug, both natural and lab-created, of the future.

We are now several months into this Plandemic. You’ve had plenty of time to ask yourself the following questions while under house arrest or when breaking the law by walking next to your spouse or playing with your kids in public: Who funds WHO? What is WHO’s real agenda? Who is behind WHO’s agenda? Who profits from WHO’s fear mongering and destruction of life? Who is hurt by WHO’s racist practices? Who will stand up to WHO? Who will stop WHO?

  1. I am a long standing member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have an overwhelming sense of frustration today. The local Utah area authorities are now “officially” requesting members to wear masks inside and outside. I’m in Wyoming but our area falls in their jurisdiction. This has so many implications for me as an active church member, as a business owner and as a health care provider. I am sorely disappointed.

    1. Dee,
      Yes, the church endorsement of masks is disappointing to say the least. Will be very difficult for me to be present in any meeting in which masks are worn during ordinances.
